History D-Scribed
I’m fascinated by design & the research involved to come up with the reason things are the way they are - across the board from nature, fashion, software, websites, and graphics, to photography, interiors, landscapes, proportions, architecture, and even gastronomy, marketing, and branding.
Business Analysis & Design
Lara thoroughly enjoys content development, and pushing the boundaries of design & colour. This lends itself brilliantly to business analysis.
Lara's an agile BA, involved in the initial research, scoping, specs, design and refinement of the user interfaces (UIs) and the backend of an innovative solution Jemini.
TECHNICAL WRITING, COORDINATION & DISCOVERY
Lara's been an information & content designer for many years... She's a strong advocate of Plain Language; using it in communications, content development & many other mediums.
In 2009, technical writing & project coordination beckoned. Lara delivered projects in both the New Zealand public & private sectors.
The Wellington regions district health boards (DHBs) became her focus for a few years - fundamentally as a tech writer, but also working across business analysis, team leadership (leading both the discovery engineers and the testing team) and project managing.
SPECIALIST RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY
Moving to New Zealand, opened the door to IT recruitment consultancy - this enhanced Lara's eagle eye for documentation. It also gave her an appreciation and understanding of the corporate world, the government sector and New Zealand's thriving IT industry.
ANALYSIS & COORDINATION
After relocating to Australia, in 2005, Lara's focus shifted from the world of the celebrity & the fashion industry to more of a corporate one. She secured account management, analytical, data-centric and coordination roles. Lara continued to be creative, with a flare for fashion and a keen eye for design & style.
FASHION & COORDINATION
Conde Nast Zao and the fashion industry in Moscow, Russia, began Lara's career & ultimately intensified her appreciation for all things beautiful & of the highest quality. She was lucky enough to launch Glamour magazine into the Russian market & it had a larger circulation than American Vogue.
After leaving Russia, she moved into freelance fashion styling & coordination for a large publication in London, UK.
I find happiness in what’s around me. I love people watching but on a much grander scale! I take in all the colours, spaces, textures, sounds, smells, values and atmosphere around me. This has really shaped who I’ve become, and my appreciation of patterns, nature & science.
